Final Day of 2005!
This one’s a photo of a bridge which once formed part of a train track. A shot from a few months back is in the Autumn Gallery and another one from last week here
The snow’s all but gone now…
But another one based on a previous photo. This one during the summer/autumn the tree’s create a nice archway over the path. It’s amazing how different it looks during the winter, espcially with snow on the ground!
Day three featuring some of the photos from the weekend – Looks like we’re losing the cold weather tomorrow too
This one features a copy of a photo originally taken a few months back during a misty morning one Autumn. The stream connects a small pond to the main lake at the country park. The ducks are an added bonus
There are a couple of other versions of the photos here, here and here
Part Two from the photos I took over the extended christmas bank holiday
This one comes from Melton Country Park which is an area of parkland set aside as a cross between a park and nature reserve with a man made lake. This path is along the entrance to it – the trees and the snow giving it a nice christmas card feel
A few days too late for a white christmas, but better than nothing – today we had snow! Not a huge amount, but enough to give everywhere a nice crisp clean look.
To celebrate this fact, and ever looking for a chance to play with my camera I went for a walk down to the nearby lake and got a few photos of the snowy land… Over the next few days i’ll post a few of them on the front page but they can all be found in the Leicestershire Winter Gallery
To start with a photo taken from my window of the snow falling outside
There’s a new look for gonewalkabout.info!
I was getting a little bit bored with the old look (maybe it was more of a summer site) and winter needs a cooler cleaner look! As such while I was browsing the wpg2 forums I came across this thread and a new theme for both wordpress and gallery2 called vslider which looked fantastic. I have the design skills of a penguin so need great themes like this.
After a bit of playing with the theme it became clear there were so many hidden gems and had to introduce it here. I’ve modified quite a lot of the gallery templates to allow for more information to be displayed but nicely hidden away in the ’slider’ elements but the basic stuff is all thanks to the theme.
It hopefully comes across as slightly ‘cleaner’ with a lot more functionality hidden away – comments welcome and if you spot anything that looks wrong let me know.
Also added an about page!
I’ve added a few more photos to the Cat Gallery a few of my favourites being.
I’ve added the B&W ones here, but colour ones are in the gallery.
If all goes well this time next year i’ll be in Australia for Christmas and New Zealand the year after that! All of which means this year could be the last chance I get for a while to put my christmas tree up. So last weekend, out came the tree
I took the chance to get a photo of it, while i’m sure they’ll be a few more of the next couple of weeks I quite like this one – got a warm glow…
The great think about weekends over the winter is I get to see daylight at home (during the week I get up its dark and same when I get home). That also means I get to see sunsets, and it begin to get dark just after.
Yesterday, saw a nice moment with the moon and a star (venus maybe?) above the house across the road. I managed to get a few photos, and while they didn’t turn out quite as expected I’ve put it on here as I like the idea…
I recently saw this photo that I liked, and thought i’d try and black and white shot of one of my cats.
The result is this of my cat Arnie!
