So it turns out my camera has a panoramic function on it! I’ve always known this and thought how it showed you where the images overlap was quite clever. However I always thought that the putting of the images back together on a PC at a later date would be a little tedious and so rarely took any.
It has though recently been brought to my attention, and its something I would have known years ago if i’d Read the Manual, that Canon provide a piece of software called photostitch that does this automatically for you!!! I’m now sat here kicking myself for not taking many more panoramic photos, particularly when in Australia – all the missed chances are coming back to me!
In a year there and 3000+ photos I took two panoramic shots! Now i’ve finally worked it all out they can be found ‘stitched’ together in the gallery. It looks like i’ll be taking my IXUS 400 compact around with me a lot more, as well as a DSLR!
Lesson Learned: RTFM!! (Read the F**king Manual!)
